Wow, it’s been far too many days since I’ve written anything. Scratch that, it’s been far too many days since I’ve finished writing anything. I’ve been swamped at work, even having to come in last sunday to bust out the proposal I was working on. In addition, I’ve been organizing the trip to Tahoe this weekend which is going to be phaaat! Tack on a little bit of socializing inbetween and I just haven’t had time to really think about things, like the upcoming presidential debates, which I will make a point of watching even though I’ll technically be on vacation and should probably just ignore them and enjoy a good soak in the hottub (mmmm, that’s hot ;).
I think the debates will make or break the election for either candidate as opposed to all those terrible campaign ads both sides have been inundating the swings states with. Word on the street is Kerry is an accomplished debater, or master debater and this should be a good fighting ground for him. Hopefully Kerry will be able to bring to an end the ongoing ‘flip-flopper’ characterization and finally look like a leader. Otherwise, Bush will once again be the man of the people, down to earth, with strong moral conviction (bullshit). I highly doubt there will be any unexpected or suprising questions that will take the candidates off guard. At least that’s what I learned while watching a discussion about presidential debates on c-span. But I’ll keep my fingers crossed. My guess it that this kind of situation would be best for Kerry and fairly catastrophic for Bush. But the campaign managers work far too hard to avoid such a situation. We’ll see…

Stay positive and be constructive.
(If you know me at all, then you know I tend to be quite negative, a pessimist, and add my $.02 when not solicited)
Good luck to you and me :)
I’m really curious how one ends up on the “no-fly” list. Apparently, Cat Stevens is on the list (his name is now Yusuf Islam), and is being sent back to London for possible ties to terrorists. I’m not saying Cat/Yusuf is guilty or innocent because I don’t have the luxury of seeing his file, but based on the shoddy intelligence on the Iraq WMD’s, I really find it hard to believe these possible ties are actual ties. And it’s problematic that our government willfully denies people certain rights or restricts them without due process. No trial, no jury, just some guy has the power to say you can’t fly. It’s very undemocratic as far as I’m concerned.
