Up until recently I’ve considered myself pretty damn lazy. There are lots of things on my mental list of things I’d like to accomplish, and I’ve felt as though I should be busting my ass 100% and making the most out of the 24 hours in each day. Yet I don’t seem to get all those things done that I’d like to. The thing is, it’s tough for me to focus all of the time and be productive all of the time. I get burnt out both mentally and physically, and I understand I need downtime, yet I still feel as though any time I’m not on the ball opportunities are being wasted.
So while I’d like to think I’m lazy, some recent achievements are telling me otherwise. I’ve gotten a pretty significant promotion at work, an article with photo published in Momentum Magazine a small bicycle magazine out of Vancouver, and another couple of photos published in San Francisco: The Unknown City as part of a writeup of a friend’s underground supperclub.

Special thanks to Amy Walker, Editor of Momentum Magazine, for publishing my article, and to Jeremy Townsend for submitting my pics for inclusion in San Francisco: The Unknown City.
Digital DJ Hardware Controllers

If you go out to a club where there’s a DJ, you probably expect to see him or her playing records to get the crowd dancing. But more and more DJs are using their computers to haul their tracks around and to do the mixing as it allows them access to a far larger collection of music. Basically, as big as their hardrive will allow. That means having possibly thousands of tunes versus a hundred or so records to pull from. Problem is, computers lack the controls of traditional mixers have and makes it look like the DJ is just checking their email. That’s all changing, and a number of boutique hardware manufacturers have developed controllers to help the computer-based digital DJs out there. Check out the roundup of controllers by Module records. Of particular interest is the Mawzer, a fully customizable controller that may be better suited for producers than DJs.
